Vengeful Bloodwitch

Vengeful Bloodwitch is a card released in the Magic: The Gathering set titled Foundations, designed by Wizards of the Coast to serve as an accessible entry point for new players while providing thematic continuity for veterans. The set was created to function as a core foundation for the game, featuring a mix of reprints and new designs intended to remain legal in various formats for an extended period, ensuring a stable environment for those learning the mechanics of black mana-aligned cards.

The art and design of the card reflect the gothic horror aesthetic long associated with the game's depiction of necromantic casters. The illustration captures the character's thematic role as a resilient threat, utilizing a visual language consistent with modern card framing to prioritize playability and readability. As part of the wider Foundations release, it was received as a functional addition to the black color pie, intended to provide strategic depth through its triggered ability without overwhelming the game's established balance.
