Provenance

Where it came from

Vivid Grove was included in the Commander 2017 preconstructed deck titled Draconic Domination. Released by Wizards of the Coast in August 2017, this set was designed to explore tribal synergies, with this specific deck focusing on dragon-themed gameplay. The card itself is a reprint of an land originally introduced in the Lorwyn set, designed to provide flexible mana fixing by utilizing charge counters.

The artwork for the original iteration of this card was created by illustrator Svetlin Velinov. The aesthetic intended to capture the lush, magical vitality of the Lorwyn plane, employing a vibrant color palette to represent the land's ability to produce any color of mana. Upon its initial release and subsequent inclusion in Commander product lines, the card has been widely regarded by players as a practical, budget-friendly utility land for multicolor decks.
