Voldaren Stinger // Voldaren Stinger

Voldaren Stinger was released in 2021 as part of the Art Series for the Magic: The Gathering expansion Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. This set returned players to the gothic horror plane of Innistrad, focusing on the encroaching darkness and the conflict between human survivors and the monstrous threats surrounding them. These cards were produced specifically as collectible art prints, showcasing the high-fidelity illustrations of the set's standard cards without the overlay of gameplay mechanics.

The artwork for this piece was created by illustrator Caio Monteiro, who was commissioned to capture the predatory and vampiric aesthetic central to the Voldaren bloodline. Monteiro’s design emphasizes the sharp, visceral nature of the character, utilizing moody lighting and intricate details to reflect the dark, atmospheric tone of the Midnight Hunt narrative. The piece was well-received by fans of the series for its vivid color palette and its contribution to the expanded visual world-building of the Innistrad setting.
