Where it came from
The 'Wakanda Forever!' card was released as part of the Marvel Super Heroes Commander set, a collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Marvel designed to integrate iconic comic book characters into the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem. This card specifically features the character Shuri, the Princess of Wakanda, reflecting her role as a brilliant scientist and protector within the Marvel Universe. It was created to offer players a thematic synergy with the Black Panther lore, focusing on artifact manipulation and combat prowess.
The design of the card relies on contemporary comic book aesthetics, drawing inspiration from Shuri's portrayal in modern Marvel publications. The illustration captures her ingenuity and the technological advancements of Wakanda, intending to bridge the gap between fantasy tabletop mechanics and the source material's futurism. Upon release, the card was received as a key utility piece for players focusing on artifact-heavy deck strategies, valued for both its tactical flexibility and its tribute to the character's legacy.
