Wall of Glare

Wall of Glare was released in 1999 as part of Urza's Destiny, the final expansion in the Urza block for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. During this period, Wizards of the Coast was focused on mechanics that pushed the boundaries of board control and defensive play, resulting in cards that often challenged standard combat math. This white creature card was designed to serve as a specialized defensive utility, allowing players to effectively stall aggressive decks by blocking multiple attackers simultaneously.

The card’s illustration was provided by artist Brian Sndar, who utilized a stark, literal visual style to convey the card's function.
