Warrior's Honor

Warrior's Honor was originally printed in the Portal set in 1997, designed as an introductory product for new players. The card was specifically crafted to teach the mechanics of combat-focused white mana spells, allowing a player to grant a temporary power and toughness boost to all their creatures during an attack or defense. By the time it was reprinted in the Ninth Edition core set in 2005, it had become a familiar staple for those learning the fundamental strategies of white-aligned battlefield management.

The artwork for the Ninth Edition release was provided by D. Alexander Gregory. Gregory’s illustration sought to capture the thematic essence of the card’s title, depicting a stoic and disciplined warrior stance that emphasizes the cooperative nature of the effect. Within the context of Ninth Edition, which served as a bridge between older card design philosophies and the modern era of Magic: The Gathering, the card was received as a straightforward, functional common meant to support tribal-lite creature strategies in limited draft environments.
