Wild Ricochet

Wild Ricochet was introduced in the Commander 2013 product line, a series of preconstructed decks released by Wizards of the Coast to support the popular Commander format for Magic: The Gathering. This specific card was featured in the Evasive Maneuvers deck, which focused on the Roon of the Hidden Realm commander and emphasized blink effects and battlefield control. It serves as a tactical defensive tool, allowing players to redirect and potentially copy spells that target them, fitting the chaotic and reactive nature of multiplayer gameplay.

The card's art was illustrated by Clint Cearley, who employed a dynamic, expressive style to capture the visual essence of a magical redirection. The design intent was to provide red-aligned decks with a high-impact, skill-testing card that rewards players for timing their responses perfectly. Upon its release, it was well-received by the player base for its versatility and the potential for dramatic reversals during intense game sessions, solidifying its place as a staple in red-inclusive commander decks.
