Where it came from
Wing It was released in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 set for Magic: The Gathering. The card was designed as a white instant intended to provide strategic flexibility through its potential for both immediate board presence and long-term utility. It reflects the set's broader goal of introducing high-power, mechanically complex cards that bridge the gap between Modern-legal play and thematic nods to the game's long history.
The artwork for the card, illustrated by Wisnu Tan, captures the dynamic movement of an avian creature in flight. The visual direction aligns with the set's high-fantasy aesthetic, focusing on fluid motion and magical atmosphere. Upon release, the card was received as a functional tool for white-based aggressive or tempo-oriented decks, praised for its versatility in combat scenarios and its ability to act as a reactive trick against opposing game plans.
