Wirewood Lodge

Wirewood Lodge was originally printed in the 2002 Onslaught expansion, serving as a rare utility land designed to support the tribal synergies of the Elf creature type. It reflects the set's thematic focus on creature-based mechanics, specifically providing a way for players to untap their elves to generate mana or activate abilities multiple times in a single turn. The card design leans into the thematic forest setting of the Otarian continent, emphasizing the mechanical depth Wizards of the Coast was exploring during that era of Magic: The Gathering.

This specific printing appears in the 2014 Duel Decks Anthology: Elves vs. Goblins, a retrospective collection intended to celebrate and reissue iconic decks from the game's history. The art by Heather Hudson captures the serene, organic architecture of the elven sanctuary, maintaining the aesthetic cohesion of the original Onslaught version while providing a refreshed frame for a new generation of players. It was included in this box set to mirror the original gameplay experience of the 2007 Elves vs. Goblins duel deck, serving as a functional cornerstone for the elven strategy within that curated environment.
