Withering Gaze

Withering Gaze was introduced to the Magic: The Gathering card pool as a blue sorcery in the Ninth Edition core set, which was released in 2005. As a core set, Ninth Edition was designed to provide a foundational experience for players, reprinting cards from previous expansions to maintain a stable environment while showcasing updated card frame designs that had been introduced during the Mirrodin block. The artwork for this particular printing was commissioned from Randy Gallegos, a prolific illustrator who has contributed to the game since the mid-1990s.
