You're Confronted by Robbers

You're Confronted by Robbers was originally released as a common card in the 1994 Legends expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Designed during the game's early developmental infancy, the card serves as a thematic representation of a random encounter in a fantasy role-playing setting, featuring flavor text that emphasizes the precarious nature of travel in the game's multiverse. The artwork, illustrated by Anson Maddocks, leans into the visceral, gritty aesthetic that defined many of the game's early sets.

The card was later included in 'The List', a curated selection of reprints integrated into Set Boosters starting with the Zendikar Rising expansion. This inclusion allowed players to pull classic cards from Magic's history while modernizing the distribution of older, mechanically unique designs. While the card is often cited by collectors for its niche utility and nostalgic value, its reception remains tied to its status as a vintage artifact of the game's experimental era.
