Zetalpa, Primal Dawn

Zetalpa, Primal Dawn was originally introduced in the 2018 Rivals of Ixalan set, serving as a powerful Elder Dinosaur that embodies the white mana color identity. The creature was designed to be a high-cost, high-impact finisher, featuring a keyword-dense ability suite that includes flying, vigilance, trample, and indestructible. Its design reflects the primal, mythic nature of the Ixalan plane, intended by Wizards of the Coast to provide a resilient threat capable of dominating the late stages of a game.

This specific iteration appears as number 108 in the Dominaria United Commander set, which released in 2022. This version functions as a reprint designed to make the card more accessible to players participating in the Commander format. By including it in a supplemental set centered on the lore and geography of Dominaria, the design team ensured that powerful creatures from the broader Magic: The Gathering multiverse remained available to players, regardless of when they began their collection.
