Where it came from
Zimone's Hypothesis was released in 2021 as part of the Strixhaven: School of Mages Commander set. The card represents the character Zimone Wola, a prodigy student at the Prismari College of Strixhaven University, a magical academy focused on the intersection of art and elemental magic. Mechanically, the card serves as a thematic reflection of Zimone's inquisitive and rigorous approach to the academic disciplines found within the multiverse of Magic: The Gathering.
The card’s illustration was crafted by artist Bastien L. Deharme, who captured Zimone in a moment of intense scholarly focus. The design seeks to evoke the high-fantasy aesthetic of the Strixhaven setting, prioritizing a sense of intellectual curiosity and magical aptitude. Upon release, the card was received as a functional tool for Commander players utilizing blue-green decks, particularly those interested in land-based synergies and card advantage.
