Akuyaku Reijou, Daisuki na Imouto no Tame ni Sono Na wo Henjou suru

Akuyaku Reijou, Daisuki na Imouto no Tame ni Sono Na wo Henjou suru originated as a light novel series before being adapted into manga form, illustrated by Ooba Fumi. The story emerged during the mid-2010s to early 2020s, a period defined by the massive popularity of the 'villainess' subgenre in Japanese web fiction, where protagonists are reincarnated into the roles of antagonists within an otome game or romantic fantasy setting.

The narrative focuses on themes of sisterly devotion and the subversion of common tropes found within the genre, as the protagonist attempts to discard the social stigma of being a villainess to protect her younger sister. Ooba Fumi’s character designs are centered on traditional shojo aesthetics, emphasizing expressive character interactions and elegant period attire that help establish the series' distinct emotional tone within a crowded literary market.
