Billy Inu

Billy Inu originated in the late 1960s as a creation of Fujiko Fujio (A), the pen name for Motoo Abuku. During a period of prolific output, Abuku explored various character archetypes that blended the whimsical tone of early shonen manga with his signature interest in domestic surrealism. The series centers on the titular character, a small, expressive dog navigating everyday life, embodying the artist's ability to imbue animal characters with relatable, human-like anxieties and comedic timing.

The visual design of Billy Inu reflects the clean, minimalist aesthetic characteristic of the Fujiko Fujio studio during their most influential years.
