Blue Blazes, known in Japan as Aoi Honō, is a semi-autobiographical manga series written and illustrated by Kazuhiko Shimamoto. First serialized in 2007, the work functions as a nostalgic, heightened retelling of the author's formative years as an aspiring manga artist in the early 1980s.
