Catalogus van de boekerij der koninklijke akademie van wetenschapen, gevestigt te Amsterdam

The Catalogus van de boekerij der koninklijke akademie van wetenschappen, gevestigd te Amsterdam was produced as a formal inventory of the library holdings of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. Published in the late 19th century, this volume reflects the rigorous intellectual standards of an institution founded in 1808 to promote scientific advancement and scholarship within the Netherlands. It served as an essential reference tool for fellows and visiting researchers to navigate the academy's expanding collection of scholarly monographs and journals.

The design and compilation of the catalog were undertaken by the academy's librarians, who sought to organize a vast multidisciplinary repository using the prevailing archival methodologies of the era. The resulting text provides a structured glimpse into the research priorities of the time, documenting the academy's commitment to the preservation of both humanities and hard sciences. It remains a significant historical record of how a premier European academic body curated and categorized human knowledge during the period of scientific professionalization.
