Where it came from
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody began as a web novel series written by Hiro Ainana, serialized on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in 2013. The story follows Ichiro Suzuki, a high-level programmer who finds himself transported into a fantasy world that reflects the game he was developing, blending elements of isekai tropes with his professional background in software engineering. Its popularity on the web platform led to a professional light novel acquisition by Fujimi Shobo, with illustrations provided by shri.
The twenty-fourth volume continues the established narrative arc of the series, which has maintained a steady publication rhythm in both Japan and abroad. Yen Press, the publisher responsible for this English edition, has been instrumental in bringing the series to an international audience, translating the light novel's distinct blend of slice-of-life exploration and RPG-inspired progression systems. The design remains consistent with the series' established aesthetic, featuring character-focused cover art that highlights the evolving cast of companions surrounding the protagonist.
