Where it came from
Dethrone is a dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Takuya Tashiro, originating from the competitive landscape of Japanese seinen manga. The series was developed within the context of the mature, often visceral storytelling traditions prevalent in late 2000s and early 2010s publications, focusing on intense themes of power, moral ambiguity, and survival in a hostile supernatural world.
Tashiro, known for his distinctively gritty and fluid linework, crafted Dethrone to subvert traditional heroic tropes by emphasizing the psychological toll on its characters. Upon its release, the work was noted for its uncompromising atmosphere and technical craftsmanship, earning a dedicated following among readers who favor complex character studies over standard action-driven narratives.
