Diplomataria et scriptores historiae germanicae medii aevi cum sigillis aeri incisis opera et studio Christiani Schoettgenii ... et Georgii Christophori Kreysigii: Tomus III. Et praefationem Henricus Gottlieb Francke

Published in the mid-18th century, this volume is part of a monumental scholarly undertaking by historians Christian Schoettgen and Georg Christoph Kreysig. The project was designed to compile and provide critical access to primary source materials related to medieval German history, specifically diplomatic documents and historical chronicles. These works were intended for an intellectual audience of scholars and clergy, aiming to preserve the legal and political heritage of the Holy Roman Empire through systematic archival research.

The physical production of this volume, printed in Altenburg, is notable for its inclusion of copperplate engravings of historical seals, a hallmark of the series' dedication to authentic documentation. The editorial framework provided by Henricus Gottlieb Francke added a layer of contemporary analysis, reflecting the Enlightenment-era drive to categorize and verify historical records. The collection served as a foundational reference for historians of the period, contributing significantly to the formalization of German historiographical standards.
