Doraemon's Latest Secret Tool Encyclopedia

Doraemon's Latest Secret Tool Encyclopedia emerged from the long-running manga series created by the duo Fujiko F. Fujio, consisting of Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko. As the series gained immense cultural traction in Japan throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the publishers began releasing supplementary reference volumes to catalog the myriad gadgets introduced by the titular robotic cat. These encyclopedias were designed as comprehensive guides for fans, detailing the function, appearance, and usage of the futuristic tools that defined the show's narrative universe.

The design of these volumes mirrors the aesthetic sensibilities of classic Japanese children's reference books, featuring meticulous line art and instructional formatting. Fujiko F. Fujio intended these books to serve as functional manuals within the fiction, reinforcing the imaginative world-building of the series. They were well-received by readers as essential companion pieces, effectively bridging the gap between the episodic nature of the manga and the expansive lore that fascinated a generation of young readers.
