Where it came from
Mariage: Kami no Shizuku Saishuushou, or The Drops of God: Final Arc, serves as the concluding chapter to the immensely influential wine-themed manga series created by the sibling duo known by the pen name Agi Tadashi. Following the original series and its sequel, Mariage continues the high-stakes narrative surrounding the search for the Twelve Apostles and the ultimate discovery of the mysterious wine known as Kami no Shizuku, reflecting the authors' extensive expertise in viticulture and oenology.
The series is celebrated for its precise, sensory-driven descriptions of wine, which often involve elaborate metaphorical illustrations designed by artist Shu Okimoto. By blending traditional shonen manga tropes with sophisticated wine connoisseurship, the work garnered significant international acclaim, credited by many in the industry with influencing wine consumption trends in Japan and across East Asia during its multi-year serialization.
