Where it came from
The Movie Original Street Fighter Shadaloo Destruction Operation was released in the mid-1990s as a tie-in publication centered on the animated feature film Street Fighter II: The Movie. It emerged during the height of the Street Fighter franchise's global cultural impact, serving as a companion volume that offered fans an expanded look at the lore, character designs, and narrative threads established in the anime adaptation.
Authored by Sakai Takayuki, the volume focuses on the sinister machinations of M. Bison and his criminal organization, Shadaloo. The work captures the aesthetic sensibilities of 1990s Japanese animation, leaning into the gritty, high-octane visual style that defined the era's fighting game adaptations. While it was primarily intended for an audience of enthusiast players and anime fans, it remains a notable piece of memorabilia for those documenting the transition of arcade combatants into multimedia icons.
