Where it came from
Nova is a contemporary manga series created by the artist known as Clevercool, emerging from the vibrant landscape of independent digital-first publishing. The work was conceived to explore themes of resilience and atmospheric world-building, drawing inspiration from both classic science fiction tropes and the aesthetic sensibilities of modern urban fantasy. It represents an ongoing effort by the mangaka to blend traditional paneling techniques with a distinct, high-contrast visual style.
The design of Nova focuses on clean lines and evocative character expressions, intended to communicate complex emotional states through minimal dialogue. Upon its serialized release and subsequent compilation into volume format, the series garnered attention for its unconventional pacing and thematic depth. It has since been recognized by readers and critics alike as a notable entry in the creator's portfolio, often cited for its deliberate departure from mainstream shonen conventions in favor of a more introspective narrative approach.
