Puella Magi Tart Magica, Vol. 5: The Legend of Jeanne d'Arc

Puella Magi Tart Magica: The Legend of Jeanne d'Arc is a spin-off manga series within the expansive Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise. Volume five serves as the conclusion to the series, which reimagines the historical life of Joan of Arc through the dark, magical-girl lens established by the original anime. Created by the collective known as Magica Quartet, the story was illustrated by artists Kawazuku and Masugitsune, who sought to blend historical atmosphere with the high-stakes, tragic character dynamics typical of the franchise.

First serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward, the series was later compiled and translated for English-language audiences by Yen Press. The design and narrative direction were intended to explore a new historical setting while maintaining the thematic consistency of the original series. The conclusion was received by fans as a faithful expansion of the mythos, noted for its melancholic tone and its effort to integrate 15th-century French history with the established magical system of the franchise.
