Where it came from
Released in 2007 as a promotional tie-in to the Wii title Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, this manga served as a narrative bridge designed to expand upon the lore of the Umbrella Corporation. It was published to flesh out the backstories of key characters and provide fans with additional context regarding the biological terror depicted in the games.
The art and narrative direction were overseen by Capcom, staying closely aligned with the aesthetic established in the main game series. While it was primarily distributed as a supplementary volume for enthusiasts, it was generally well-received within the Resident Evil community for its effort to bridge the gaps between the various game installments, providing a darker, illustrated look at the fall of the organization.
