Sengoku Basara 3 - Bloody Angel

Sengoku Basara 3: Bloody Angel is a manga adaptation based on the popular Sengoku Basara video game franchise developed by Capcom. Published in the early 2010s, this series was created to capitalize on the success of the third mainline entry in the game series, which introduced a reimagined, stylized take on the Sengoku period of Japanese history. The manga serves as a companion piece, expanding upon the narrative arcs and character dynamics established in the game's high-octane, fantastical interpretation of the Warring States era.

The series was illustrated by Itou Ryuu, an artist known for capturing the kinetic energy and dramatic flair essential to the franchise's visual identity. Ryuu’s work on this title focuses on translating the chaotic, combo-heavy action of the video game into a sequential format, emphasizing the distinctive character designs that the series is known for. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the video games who sought deeper context for the story's legendary warlords and their unconventional characterizations.
