Star Trek: Defiant #26

Star Trek: Defiant #26 is a late-run installment in the ongoing comic series published by IDW Publishing. Part of a broader effort to expand the Star Trek literary universe across various timelines, this series focuses on Worf and his crew aboard the U.S.S. Defiant as they navigate the volatile landscape of the galaxy during the post-Dominion War era. The narrative serves as a bridge between established television continuity and original storytelling, catering to long-term fans who appreciate the grittier, tactical aspects of Federation exploration.

The creative direction for this series, spearheaded by writer Christopher Cantwell, emphasizes character-driven tension and political intrigue. Cantwell’s approach was designed to explore the moral complexities of Starfleet operations outside of traditional diplomatic boundaries. The artwork accompanying these issues is intended to maintain the high production standards of IDW’s Star Trek line, focusing on ship schematics and expressive character modeling that align with the established aesthetic of the Deep Space Nine-era visual language.
