Tachimori Yuu wa Suiri wo Shinai: Interior no Kikoushi to Wakeari Keiji no Jiken Mokuroku

Tachimori Yuu wa Suiri wo Shinai: Interior no Kikoushi to Wakeari Keiji no Jiken Mokuroku is a light novel series written by Ichiha Akizuki, published in Japan to cater to the growing market for mystery-themed character dramas. The series belongs to a genre of Japanese light fiction that blends professional expertise—in this case, interior design—with the traditional procedural structure of a police investigation, positioning the protagonist as an unconventional consultant who approaches crime scenes through the lens of spatial aesthetics and human behavioral patterns.

The character designs and illustrations, which are central to the series' visual identity and appeal, align with contemporary light novel standards characterized by refined, expressive portraiture. The narrative focus on the dynamic between the eponymous protagonist, an elegant interior designer, and a troubled police detective is a hallmark of the 'buddy mystery' subgenre in Japanese fiction, where the juxtaposition of domestic refinement and gritty police work serves as the primary hook for readers seeking character-driven detective stories.
