Where it came from
This doujinshi, created by the artist Kurumi, emerged from the vibrant fan-culture surrounding the Japanese role-playing game Tales of Xillia. Released at a doujin event, the work serves as an unofficial derivative publication that explores the game's cast through the specific themes of character aging and character-specific aesthetics, focusing on the fan-favorite trope of swimwear and lingerie attire within the established visual style of the series.
Kurumi, a known figure in the Tales-focused doujin community, utilized the distinct character designs from the Namco Bandai title to draft these illustrated vignettes. The publication reflects a broader trend of Japanese fan artists producing supplementary visual content that interprets the long-term character progression of the Tales of Xillia protagonists, adhering to established conventions of fan-made art books by emphasizing detailed character studies and stylistic playfulness.
