The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Burn: A Devilishly Funny Urban Fantasy

The Unlikeable Demon Hunter series, written by Deborah Wilde, emerged during the mid-2010s urban fantasy boom. The narrative follows Nava Katz, a protagonist characterized by her lack of traditional hero tropes and her struggle to manage supernatural responsibilities while dealing with personal flaws. This specific volume serves as a continuation of Wilde's established voice, blending sarcastic wit with the standard conventions of the supernatural subgenre.

Wilde designed this series to challenge the stoic archetype of the demon hunter, opting instead for a character-driven approach that prioritizes comedic dialogue and internal conflict. The cover art and promotional materials utilize a vibrant, contemporary aesthetic typical of independent digital-first publishing, which helped the series cultivate a dedicated readership within online reading communities upon its release.
