Ultra Q, the manga adaptation by Ken Nakajo, emerged from the monumental success of the 1966 Japanese tokusatsu television series of the same name. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the original series broke new ground by blending science fiction and monster-of-the-week tropes, setting the template for the subsequent Ultra Series. Ken Nakajo’s artistic contribution aimed to translate the cinematic scale of the television show into the static medium of manga.
