Where it came from
Rinya's Summer Vacation 2019 is a fan-produced doujinshi volume centered on the popular figure skating anime Yuri!!! on Ice. Created by the established manga artist Kodaka Kazuma, the work reflects the widespread creative output surrounding the series following its 2016 debut, where fans and professional artists alike contributed unofficial stories to deepen the narrative engagement with the show's cast.
The volume captures a lighthearted, slice-of-life aesthetic that was common in the post-series fandom landscape. Kodaka Kazuma, known for a distinctive art style developed over decades in the shonen-ai and yaoi manga genres, utilized this project to explore personal interpretations of the characters during a summer break setting. The work was distributed primarily at specialized fan conventions in Japan, serving as a collector's piece for dedicated fans of both the source material and the mangaka's unique stylistic approach.
