Where it came from
This card, titled 'Because the Side of Justice Will Be Whichever Side Wins!!' (OP05-037), is an event card released as a reprint in the Premium Booster -The Best- Vol. 2 set. It originates from the One Piece Card Game, which launched in 2022 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Eiichiro Oda's manga series. The card art captures a defining moment involving Doflamingo during the Marineford Arc, reflecting the narrative theme of shifting power dynamics and cynical morality inherent in the series.
The design of this event card was crafted to mirror the high-stakes political intrigue of the One Piece universe, emphasizing the manipulative influence of the Warlords of the Sea. By featuring iconic imagery of Doflamingo, the illustrators aimed to evoke the tension of the Summit War. Upon its introduction, the card gained traction among competitive players for its utility in gameplay mechanics, serving as a tactical representation of the chaotic forces depicted in the manga.
