Where it came from
The El Thor card, numbered OP05-114, was introduced as part of the Premium Booster: The Best set for the One Piece Card Game. This card depicts the signature lightning-based attack of Enel, the primary antagonist of the Skypiea arc. It was released to provide players with a high-rarity, visually striking iteration of a core event card, utilizing the 'Jolly Roger' foil treatment to distinguish it from its standard-set counterpart.
The design draws heavily from Eiichiro Oda's original manga aesthetic, capturing the dramatic flair of Enel's god-like power. The foil pattern is applied to highlight the radiating energy of the attack, a choice intended to appeal to collectors who favor premium card aesthetics. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the competitive community for its utility in gameplay and by enthusiasts for its holographic finish, which remains a staple of Bandai’s presentation strategy for the game.
