Jaguar.D.Saul

Jaguar D. Saul, featured as card OP09-109 in the Emperors in the New World set for the One Piece Card Game, draws from the character's pivotal role in the Ohara flashback. Saul is a former Vice Admiral of the Marines who famously defected to protect Nico Robin and the preservation of historical knowledge, embodying themes of moral integrity against government oppression. The card design highlights his immense stature and his signature laugh, serving as a tribute to his sacrifice during the Buster Call incident.

The art direction for this specific expansion focuses on the historical narrative arcs of the One Piece world, aiming to capture the emotional weight of characters like Saul who shaped the protagonist's journey. By positioning Saul within the Emperors in the New World set, the illustrators chose a stark, narrative-driven aesthetic that distinguishes him from the more contemporary combatants in the collection. The card was received by the player base as a significant utility piece, praised for its mechanical synergy with decks centered on the Giant archetype and the history of the Will of D.
