Kaido

Kaido, specifically the card designated as ST04-003, was released as part of the Pillars of Strength [OP03] expansion for the One Piece Card Game. This card depicts the formidable captain of the Beasts Pirates, serving as a pillar of the Animal Kingdom Pirates archetype introduced early in the game's lifecycle. It was designed to reflect Kaido's overwhelming physical presence and his status as one of the Four Emperors, utilizing mechanics that emphasize board control and high-cost power.

The card’s artwork captures Kaido in his signature, menacing stance, consistent with the aesthetic direction of the Bandai card team to emphasize the intensity of the manga's Wano Country arc. As a character card within the Starter Deck 04 line, which focused heavily on the purple color identity, the design aimed to provide players with a stable, high-impact threat. The card was well-received by the competitive community for its utility in strategic play, becoming a standard inclusion for players looking to leverage the resource-manipulation mechanics inherent to the purple faction.
