Monkey.D.Luffy

The Monkey.D.Luffy card from the Pillars of Strength set, identified as ST01-012, is part of the foundational infrastructure of the One Piece Card Game, which launched globally in late 2022. This particular iteration of the protagonist was designed to integrate into the red-color archetype, focusing on the aggressive, high-tempo playstyle associated with Luffy's character arc. The art direction emphasizes the dynamic and kinetic energy characteristic of Eiichiro Oda’s source material, aiming to capture the character's signature determination during key narrative moments.

As a component of the early release cycle, this card serves as a representative example of the initial card pool that established the game's competitive mechanics. The design choices were heavily influenced by the need to balance iconic character representation with the tactical requirements of the game's life-based combat system. It has been widely collected by fans of the series and card gamers alike, serving as a staple piece for those documenting the evolution of the One Piece trading card game since its inception.
