Long-Jaw Neptunian

The Long-Jaw Neptunian was introduced as part of the A Fist of Divine Speed set, an expansion that leaned heavily into aquatic and deep-sea monster archetypes. Produced to flesh out the mid-tier power levels of the game, the card was designed to support control-oriented strategies, utilizing its unique defensive ability to disrupt opponent combat cycles. Its aesthetic reflects a transition toward more creature-focused, visceral character illustrations common in that era of the game's development.

The character design team focused on an exaggerated, biomechanical aesthetic, blending traditional deep-sea biology with the sharp, aggressive edges that defined the set's visual identity. Upon release, it was regarded by players as a specialized utility piece. While it never achieved the status of a format-defining staple, it remains recognized among long-time collectors for its contribution to the specific thematic coherence of the Fist of Divine Speed expansion.
