Monkey.D.Garp

The Monkey.D.Garp card, numbered OP03-014, was released as part of the Pillars of Strength expansion for the One Piece Card Game in 2023. This set, the third main release of the game, was designed to expand the tactical depth of the meta-game by introducing new leaders and support cards centered around iconic characters from the series. The pre-release event served as a controlled environment for players to experience these new mechanics before the official launch, featuring exclusive promotional variants that have since become staples for collectors of the Black color archetype.

The card features the legendary Marine Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp, illustrated with a focus on his authoritative presence. The design aesthetic follows the established visual language of the One Piece Card Game, prioritizing dynamic character portraiture and clear iconography to facilitate fluid gameplay. Reception within the competitive community was positive, as the card provided essential utility for Black-focused decks, cementing its status as a functional and recognizable piece within the early history of the game's competitive circuit.
