Monkey.D.Garp (Alternate Art)

The Monkey.D.Garp (OP02-115) card was released in 2022 as part of the Paramount War expansion for the One Piece Card Game, a tactical trading card game based on the long-running manga series by Eiichiro Oda. This set specifically draws from the intense Marineford Arc, depicting the pivotal battle where the Marines attempted to execute Portgas D. Ace. The card serves as a high-rarity alternate art variant, showcasing the character in a gritty, action-oriented aesthetic that differentiates it from the standard character card found in the base set.

The design of this card focuses on the veteran Vice Admiral, emphasizing his stature as one of the most formidable figures in the Navy. The illustration captures Garp's intensity, utilizing the dramatic, high-contrast art style that defines the Paramount War series' chase cards. Within the game's competitive meta, the card gained notice for its unique ability to manipulate the board state, reflecting Garp's role as a tactical powerhouse. It is highly sought after by collectors for its blend of character significance and its limited print aesthetic, which elevated it to a cornerstone of the Black-color deck archetype during the early lifecycle of the game.
