Yamakaji

The Yamakaji character card, designated OP02-116, was released in 2022 as part of the Paramount War expansion for the One Piece Card Game. This set was designed to chronicle the climactic events of the Marineford arc, bringing pivotal naval officers and pirates into the game’s strategic framework. As a character card representing the Vice Admiral, its inclusion serves to flesh out the tactical depth of the Navy-affiliated deck archetypes during this phase of the game’s early release schedule.

The card features an illustration of Yamakaji, depicted with his characteristic cigar and stoic expression, consistent with the art style established by Eiichiro Oda in the original manga. The design focus for these Navy-themed cards was to emphasize the disciplined, heavy-hitter nature of the Marines, utilizing specific color-coding—in this case, the black color identity—to define its gameplay utility. Upon release, it was received as a standard utility card, valued primarily by collectors interested in completing the full Marineford roster and by players building specialized Navy-themed decks.
