Where it came from
The Morgans card, designated OP07-090, was released as part of the 500 Years in the Future expansion for the One Piece Card Game. This set centers on the Egghead arc and legacy story elements, continuing the game's strategy of adapting Eiichiro Oda's expansive manga narrative into a tactical trading card format. The character Morgans, the President of the World Economic Journal, is depicted here in a pre-release capacity, serving as a tactical support unit that reflects his role as the primary information broker in the series.
The design of the card emphasizes Morgans' distinctive 'Big News' persona, utilizing the vibrant, high-contrast aesthetic consistent with the broader One Piece art direction. As a pre-release offering, this card was distributed during organized play events designed to introduce players to the mechanics of the new set. It was received by the community as a useful utility piece for deck archetypes that focus on manipulating the board state, maintaining the game's reputation for balancing thematic accuracy with functional competitive play.
