Where it came from
The Morgans card, designated OP07-090, was introduced as part of the 500 Years in the Future expansion for the One Piece Card Game. This set was designed to pull characters and thematic elements from the Egghead Arc of the source material, focusing on futuristic technology and the evolving political landscape of the series. The game mechanics team at Bandai developed this card to represent the character’s role as the president of the World Economic Journal, emphasizing his influence on the distribution of information across the series' world.
The illustration adheres to the vibrant, high-energy aesthetic consistent with the One Piece trading card line, capturing Morgans in his characteristic feathered form. The design seeks to balance the character's avian appearance with his professional attire, reflecting his personality as an opportunistic and boisterous journalist. Upon release, the card was integrated into the meta-game as a utility piece, with players utilizing its search capabilities to stabilize their deck compositions during competitive play.
