Where it came from
The 'My Era...Begins!!' card (OP09-096) is part of the 'Emperors in the New World' expansion for the One Piece Card Game, released in 2024. As an event card, it is designed to mechanically represent the climactic narrative moments of the series where major antagonists assert their dominance. The card’s design leverages high-contrast artwork characteristic of the late-stage expansion sets, aiming to capture the gravitas of Eiichiro Oda’s source material while serving a specific strategic function in the meta-game.
The card was produced by Bandai to support the evolving gameplay dynamics of the TCG, specifically focusing on the power-scaling themes found in the Wano Country and Final Saga story arcs. The illustration utilizes the official character art style found in the manga, prioritizing recognizability and thematic alignment for long-term fans. Upon its release, it was received as a key utility tool for players looking to manipulate board states, reflecting a broader design philosophy within the set that emphasizes impactful, narrative-driven card effects.
