Where it came from
The Sabo (OP13-120) card from the 'Carrying On His Will' set serves as a stylistic nod to the iconic wanted posters that define the One Piece universe. This design choice evokes the series' core themes of rebellion and the pursuit of freedom, grounding the character—the Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army—within the high-stakes narrative of the franchise. It is intended to capture the visual aesthetic of the world government's criminal records while functioning as a collectible piece of character art within the competitive trading card game ecosystem.
As part of the OP-13 expansion, the card was designed to reflect Sabo's pivotal role in the series' ongoing conflict. The illustration aims to balance his composed, tactical demeanor with the fiery urgency associated with his signature abilities. Upon release, the card was well-received by players and collectors alike, particularly for its thematic fidelity to the source material, effectively bridging the gap between functional game piece and narrative-driven memorabilia.
