Where it came from
Released in early 2023 as part of the Paramount War expansion for the One Piece Card Game, the Uta (OP02-120) Alternate Art card celebrates the character's pivotal role in the film One Piece Film: Red. The card features a distinct, stylized illustration that departs from the standard card art, utilizing a soft, watercolor-inspired aesthetic that highlights Uta’s status as a world-renowned diva. It was designed to capture the atmospheric essence of the character’s musical influence within the franchise.
Upon release, this card was highly sought after by collectors and competitive players alike due to both its limited pull rate and its relevance to the Film: Red narrative arc. The artistic direction was intended to evoke the emotional weight of Uta’s performance, and the card was met with widespread acclaim for its visual departure from the more action-oriented illustrations typical of the Paramount War set. It remains a hallmark of the early sets in the One Piece Card Game ecosystem.
