What it does
Your opponent flips a number of coins equal to the number of Pokémon on his or her Bench. This attack does 20 damage times the number of tails. Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for this attack. (Any other effects that would happen after applying Weakness and Resistance still happen.)
Carries a pendulum with it always. Sometimes appears near less-traveled roads and schools at dusk.

Where it came from
Dark Hypno was released in 2000 as part of the Team Rocket expansion, the first Pokémon Trading Card Game set to introduce 'Dark' variants of existing Pokémon. This expansion marked a thematic shift in the TCG, drawing inspiration from the villainous organization in the Game Boy titles and focusing on more aggressive, shadow-themed aesthetics that contrasted with the brighter designs of the original Base Set.
The card features artwork by Kagemaru Himeno, a central illustrator for the Pokémon franchise known for her distinct, soft-edged style. Himeno designed the card to emphasize the eerie, psychological nature of Hypno, placing the creature in a dark, swirling environment to reflect its status as a Team Rocket-controlled Pokémon. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players for its 'Hypnosis' ability, which introduced a strategic element of control that remained a staple in competitive play for the duration of the set's relevance.
