What it does
Once during your turn when Dark Ivysaur retreats, choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and switch it with his or her Active Pokémon.
Your opponent puts 3 markers onto his or her Pokémon (divided as he or she chooses). (More than 1 marker can be put on the same Pokémon.) Then, this attack does 10 damage to each Pokémon for each marker on it. Don't apply Weakness and Resistance. Remove the markers at the end of the turn.

Where it came from
The Dark Ivysaur card was released in 2002 as part of the Best of Game promotional set. This collection was curated to feature high-quality reprints of popular cards from the early Rocket and Neo sets, providing players with competitive staples. It was distributed primarily through organized play events and retail blister packs, serving as a nostalgic bridge for fans during the transition between major expansions.
The card features artwork by Atsuko Nishida, one of the most prolific illustrators in the franchise's history. The design adheres to the 'Dark' aesthetic popularized by the Team Rocket expansion, characterized by a more aggressive posture and a shadow-drenched color palette. It was well-received by the player base for its strategic utility in the modified format, remaining a recognized piece of early-2000s Pokémon Trading Card Game history.
