Provenance

Where it came from

Hoopa first appeared in the Pokémon Trading Card Game's Forbidden Light expansion, which was released internationally in May 2018. This set was part of the Sun & Moon series and drew inspiration from the narrative of the Ultra Beasts and the cinematic expansion of the Pokémon multiverse, specifically highlighting the mischievous Mythical Pokémon Hoopa in its confined form.

The card was illustrated by the artist Mizue, who has contributed numerous designs to the Pokémon TCG. The artwork depicts Hoopa emerging through one of its signature interdimensional rings, emphasizing the psychic-type utility of the character. As an uncommon card, it was designed primarily for playability within the competitive landscape of the time, serving as a reliable utility piece for psychic-focused decks rather than a high-value collector's rarity.
